Clara Villain is a French translator of Modern Greek literature. In 2017-2018, she attended the Education and Professional Training Program for Young Translators of Greek Literature (Kostas and Eleni Ouranis – Charis Petrou
Foundation). In 2022 she participated in the specialization program of the École de Traduction Littéraire (Paris).
She has translated into French the works of various contemporary Greek authors, including Kallia Papadaki, Yiannis Makridakis, Auguste Corteau, Fotini Tsalikoglou, Kallirroi Parousi, Christos Kythreotis, Lefteris Giannakoudakis,
Theodoros Papakostas, etc. She also collaborated as a translator with the École Française d’Athènes and the Benaki Museum.
In 2021, she was shortlisted for the “Prix de la traduction VoVf – INALCO” translation award for the translation of the novel Δενδρίτες (Sillages) by Kallia Papadaki.
