Despina Kaitatzi-Choulioumi
Despina Kaitatzi-Choulioumi was born and lives in Serres, she is a Clinical Psychologist, she completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies (MSc) at the Department of Applied Psychology of the University of Uppsala. She is a member of the “Association of Greek Psychologists”, and a member of the Society of Writers of Thessaloniki and an approved translator on the register of the Swedish National Council of Culture (Kulturrådet). She is as well a member of “The Uppsala University Alumni Network”, a member of the “Citizen TALES Commons” and the “Karin Boye Sällskapet”. She worked as a psychologist in Education, Rehabilitation and Mental Health units in Sweden and Greece. She was the Administrative Head of the Serres Diagnostic Center for pupills of the Ministry of Education, she teach as a Lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science, Serres of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She worked as a psychologist in Education, Rehabilitation and Mental Health units in Sweden and Greece. She was the Administrative Head of the Serres Diagnostic Center for pupills of the Ministry of Education, she teach as a Lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science, Serres of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As a Certified Adult Educator Instructor she collaborated with public services and university Education and Training Centers coordinating Adult Training, Parent Counseling and Adult Educator Training teams.
She published the following five collections of poetry: “The Road”, published by the Municipality of Serres, 2006, “Emotional Alphabet”, published by UNIVERSITY STUDIO PRESS, 2009, “Itineraries”, published by Gavriilidis, 2015, “Words are dwindling”, Melani, 2017 “Everything sounds deafeningly silent”, ROMI publications, 2020, as well as the collection of short stories “The place within us”, Armos publications, 2020. She has also translated the bilingual book “Skin of Butterfly a Selection of Swedish Poetry“/“Hud av Fjärilar ett Urval av Svensk Lyrik“), Intellectum publications, Thessaloniki 2018 and the book Jila Mossaeds poetry, “You Give Me the Freedom Not to Belong”, Vakchikon publications, Athens 2021. She is participates in collective publications and printed or electronic anthologies. Collaborates with print and electronic magazines with poems, short stories, translations and critical reading texts. Her poems and short stories have been translated into English, Swedish, German, Italian, albalic and Bulgarian.
