Dimitris Mallis
Storytelling – poetry – short stories
Dimitris Mallis was born in Athens. He studied Pedagogy at the Heraklion Pedagogical Academy, Crete, at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and he is a postgraduate of the Maraslio Didaskalio. He lives and works as a teacher in Salamis.
He is the founder of the Storytelling Group “Paramythanthos”. With “Paramythanthos” he travels to Greece and to the magical places of fairy tales. He researches, studies, records and narrates stories from the oral tradition to young and old. He composes the music and songs for the stories he tells.
He is a founding member of the Association of Professional Storytellers – Historians of Greece (S.EP.AFI.) and a founding member of Hellenic Institute of Rhetorical and Communication Studies (HIRCS)
He coordinates the project “Fairytales, to take courage!” on youtube.
He writes poems, short stories and fairy tales. He has published a poetry collection and books of folk tales and stories of his own.
His poems, short stories and fairy tales have been published in collective works.
He has been writing for a number of years in regular columns in the local press about folk tales.
He has been awarded the First Short Story Prize at the 9th Animal Welfare International Literary Competition in 2021.
