Katerina Zachariadou was born in Athens. She holds a Ph.D. in Physics, and since 1995 she has been collaborating with Νational and Ιnternational Universities and Research Centers, in the scientific fields of Particle, Astro-particle, and Nuclear Physics. Her contribution to science and education is recorded in three university books, and about 350 publications in scientific journals and conference proceedings. Currently, she is conducting research at the European Centre of Nuclear Research (CERN). She is serving as Professor at the University of West Attica, Greece, and as President of the Hellenic Association for the Study of High Energy Physics.

In literature, she appeared in 1984 with the narratives On the roads of coincidence (Στους δρόμους της σύμπτωσης. Λογοτεχνία Τώρα, Σπ. Κάλμπαρης). Excerpts of her literature writings have been selected for publication in the annual anthology Philological Review (Φιλολογική Επιθεώρηση. Χατζίδης, 1985, 1986) receiving starred reviews and in the Athens Academy award-winning annual anthology Philological New Year (Φιλολογική Πρωτοχρονιά. Μαυρίδης, 1988). Her poems have been presented in literary magazines, radio broadcasts, poetry events and lately were published in Dr. Konstantinos Bouras’ anthology Poems of Crisis, 2008-2018 (Ποιήματα της κρίσης, 2008-2018. Ιωλκός, 2020). She has published the collections of poems Days in Carthage (Μέρες στην Καρχηδόνα. Παρασκήνιο, 2000), Echoes (Απόηχοι. Iνφογνώμων, 2016) and Nocturnal Rain (Νυχτερινή Βροχή. Νίκας, 2021).
