Klety Sotiriadou
Klety Sotiriadou was born in Thessaloniki and lives in Athens. She has a B.A. in English Literature and an M.A. in the Theory and Practice of Literary Translation. She has published poetry and short story collections, a study on Radiaesthesia, The Pendulum and a novel. A collection of poems Antidora and her novel Bonsai are available at Kedros Editions. She has translated numerous Spanish speaking writers like Gabriel García Márquez (twenty books, novel and short story collections), Mario Vargas Llosa, Carlos Fuentes, Ernesto Sabato and others as well as English speaking poets for literary magazines and a bilingual translation of Sylvia Plath’s Ariel. Member of the Hellenic Authors’ Society and elected member of the Board for eight years (30/3/2003 -30/3/2005, 1/4/2005-30/2/2007, 1/3/2009-30/3/2011 και 1/4/2011-30/3/2013).Representative of the above Society to CEATL (Conseil Européen des Associations de Traducteurs) for 11 years (2002-2013) and elected General Secretary for two years.
Representative of the above Society to ΕΚΕΒΙ (National Centre of Book) for three years (2010-2013).
Representative of the above Society to the Cultural Committee “Waves of the Three Seas” at the International Centre for Writers and Translators in Rhodes for three years (2002-2004).
Taught English literature for three years at The American College in Greece Deree.
Post Graduate Seminars on translation (Spanish to Greek) for three years at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2004-2006).
