Zefi Kolia was born in Piraeus, the main port of Athens, Greece. She has written articles for a number of political, ecological and literary magazines. From 1989 to 1991 she worked in the Greek Parliament for the Green Party and she is one of the founding members of the ecology movement in Greece.  Her first novel was published in 2000 and since then she has published four novels and a book for young and older children entitled ‘’Pop Café, the Haunt of Weird Creatures’’. Her own short stories have been included in literary collections, newspapers, magazines and websites. Her latest book is the biography novel ‘’Laura, the Last of the Marxes’’, dealing with the life and double suicide of Laura Marx (daughter of Karl Marx) and her husband Paul Lafargue.
