Giota Kougiali was born in Promiri Magnesias and lives in Volos. She has worked in Primary Education as well as at the University of Thessaly, overseeing the placement of the Department of Early Childhood Education students.  She has served as a collaborator of the Laboratory of Language and Culture of the University of Thessaly and a producer of the radio show “Stories behind the stories” at ERT Volos. She is the president of the Centre for Authors from Magnesia (KEVIMASI).

She has written the novels: “Secretly returning”, published by Metehmio (2024); “What do you see around you, tonight?”, by Kastaniotis publications (2020), which was shortlisted for Klepsydra magazine’s Prose Prize 2021; “Love Stutter”, by Kastaniotis publications (2005); “She held moons in her arms”, by Kastaniotis publications. (2000). She has also written books for children and manuals for primary education teachers.
