Stavros Christodoulou

Stavros Christodoulou was born in Nicosia in 1963. He studied Law in Athens and later pursued a career in journalism. His first novel, Hotel National, was published in 2016 (Kalentis Editions). His books published by Kastaniotis Editions include The Day the River Froze (2018), Three Steps in History (2020), Black Flamingo (2023), and Six More Minutes (2025).
The Day the River Froze was awarded the European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL) in 2020, as well as the Cyprus State Prize for Novel for publications of the year 2018. His books have been translated and published in Romania, Albania, Serbia, and Bulgaria. His short stories have been included in anthologies and collective works, such as the French-language anthology Le Grand Tour / Self-Portrait of Europe by Its Writers (Ed. Grasset, 2022).
