Ioanna Theochari, with origins from Zakynthos, was born and raised in Athens. She studied at the American College of Greece and received her first poetry award in English at the age of 17. She graduated from school of Medicine in Brescia, Italy, with her thesis in Childrens’ Neuropsychiatry. Her poems have been published by distinguished magazines such as “Poein” and “Fractal”. She has received awards in international poetry competitions from the Zakynthos Cultural Center “Dionysios Romas”, from the Nostos Cultural Organization in Argentina and from the Limassol Spiritual Horizons as well as awards in Panhellenic poetry competitions from the Piraeus Society of Letters and Arts (2022) and from the Epirus Writers’ Society (2024). Her first collection was titled “Your Rose is alive” (Iolkos 2021) and her second poetry collection entitled “Marble Souls” was published by Vakxikon Publications in 2023. She works in Athens as an emergency doctor at the Melathron Health Clinic.
