Nikos Georgopoulos
Nikos Georgopoulos was born in Patras in 1966. He has worked in the merchant navy as a Financial Officer. He currently resides in Athens, is married to poet Sofia Kolotourou and works in the field of Information Technology. In 2015, his first poetry collection came out, titled Τα αγαθά κόποις φλέγονται [“Goods set ablaze by labour”], and in the same year, the Εμβόλιμον [Interpolation] literary magazine published his short story titled “Η φαλτσέτα και η τραγουδίστρια” [The cutter knife and the chanteuse]. In 2019, his second poetry collection, titled Δεμένα σώματα [Tied bodies], was published by AO Editions. In 2023, his third poetry collection, titled Σπασμένο βέλος [Broken arrow], was published also by AO Editions. His poems have been published in print and online media, included in poetry anthologies and set to music by B.D. Foxmoor of Active Member and Kostas Mougiakos of “Without Refrain.” Moreover, his poems have been translated into English by poet Yiannis Goumas
