Filomena Shedir Di Paola was born on 1 June 1967 in Montecorice, Campania, Italy.
She is an Italian poet, writer and translator based in Athens since 1995. She holds a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Literatures and has been writing for more than four decades.
For many years, she chose to devote herself primarily to writing before deciding to publish her work. Alongside her literary activity, she has extensive professional experience in Italian language teaching and literary translation and has translated literary works and essays.
Selected poems have appeared in print and online literary journals. In 2025, she published her first poetry collection, Crete Fertili, ( The Living Clay) with Transeuropa.
