Maria Chourdaki was born in Heraklion- Crete and studied Sociology at the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. She has published prose in the literature magazine (δε)κατα. Her debut in Greek letters were the free verse poems Εκ των ενόντων [Of those that Exist] 2016. She has also published a haiku collection Ανάμεσα στα φύλλα [Between the Leaves] 2017. Her last book the novel Στον Χάνδακα, εγώ, η Ματθαία [I, Matthew, in Candia] was published by Gavrielides in 2019.
